Description: As CERN’s flagship accelerator, the 27-kilometres-long Large Hadron Collider (LHC), recently entered the Long-Shutdown 3, the Organization is now looking towards the High-Luminosity LHC, which will maximise the performance of the LHC by cranking up the number of collisions happening in the collider. In this session, Markus Zerlauth, HiLumi LHC project leader, will explain how this major upgrade will increase the potential for discoveries after 2030. The HiLumi LHC is the next phase in the exploration of the fundamental laws of nature, and it will provide unprecedented opportunities to deepen our understanding of the Universe and explore some of the most fundamental questions in science.
